  1. If you watch the trailer closely, there is a clip that shows Bella before she jumps. It looks like it is a short sleeved henley over and long sleeve tee. I'm not sure if this is the right henley.

    ReplyDelete
  2. I also just watched the extended trailer on the MTV VMAs and I think this poster is right: it appeared to be a shirt sleeve brown henley over a long sleeve medium blue (?) shirt.

    ReplyDelete
  3. yes i agree that that its a short sleeved brown henley over a long sleeve blue shirt

    ReplyDelete
  4. The sleeves are 3/4 length sleeves instead of short sleeves on the first one but these two henleys are the closest things I have found so far (will keep looking).

  5. Is the short sleeved one really brown? It looks more army green to me...

  6. The short sleeved brown shirt looks like it has stripes on it.

  7. Yes! I got a look at the HD trailer and it definitely looks like a brown striped shirt (it looks so much like the other splendid one).

    See :58 in this trailer:

The only closest shirt I have been able to find is this polo. I'm still looking but not having any luck:

  8. I checked out the trailer and agree that it is a short sleeve brown stripe henley.

I could find a stripe henley but i found a plain brown one with similar buttons (for cheap!):

  9. The brown shirt is an American Eagle Stripe Henley.

I have found a white one on ebay:

  11. Elisa,
Where did you find it? Unfortunately the one on Ebay is to small for me.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Never mind. I found it in my size from another seller. Good spotting!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Can you guys tell me what sellers you bought it from please? I can't find it on ebay :(

    ReplyDelete
  14. When I looked last nite I only saw 3 shirts in that color. Just try searching for "American Eagle Henley" in Women's clothing. That's how I found mine.
    Good luck-Elisa

    ReplyDelete
  15. -elisa can you provide the exact link?
I cant find it on AE.com

    ReplyDelete
  16. AE doesn't sell it anymore, and I double checked Ebay to see if there were any more left, but it looks like those are gone too. My best guess is to keep checking Ebay to see if more are listed in the future. -Elisa

  18. I agree with Elisa. As soon as I saw this post on the AE henley I went over to Ebay and lucked out with finding it. I would recommend doing a "saved search" with the subject title American Eagle henley olive/green. If anyone lists a shirt with any of those words for sale you will get an email notification right away. Good luck in your search everyone!

  19. i got the henley in the light blue and white...i can't wait til i get it...I keep checking to see if there is the brown one...

Well if so just go to premark, they have an identical one for 2 quid

    ILOVEYOUPREMARK!

    Wooah :P

    ReplyDelete
  23. Seriously? Wow I'm so going to primark this weekend Do you have any photos of your top? Could you email some to me, my email address is above

    ReplyDelete
  24. Can you post a picture of the Primark one? I was in there today and didn't see one that reminded me of Bella's...

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think it's important to remember that the colours are toned down in the Twilight Saga films, especially in the Forks scenes. (It was sort of mentioned in passing during the Twilight DVD commentary when Robert Pattinson mentioned Bella's prom dress looked sort of purple rather than blue.) Therefore, this top which looks really green in the top picture does look brownish in the trailer.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Just a warning that those eBayers in the know are snapping up the Olive henleys for hugely inflated prices, especially if the seller is savvy enough to know that it's been seen in New Moon trailers. If you find one at a descent Buy It Now price, then - well - buy it now!

  29. "I BOUGHT A WHITE ONE & AM GOING TO DYE IT THAT COLOR"

Let us know how it goes, whether the stripes are still distinct and what sort of dye you use. Some fabrics don't dye well. I had the same idea but I want to get it perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  30. It turns out it's true about the Primark tops, they did sell T-shirts that represent the one that Bella wears. However, the ever-dreaded DISCONTINUED sign hangs over the heads of Twilighters. I managed to find a grey and a blue one in a local charity shop and going to dye them olive green. The brand is marked as Denim Co and you MIGHT be able to find one on eBay if you're lucky.

  32. I suppose they can only reproduce clothing such as the Birthday Dress and New Moon Jacket that were custom made for the movie because of copyright law. Designers can sue if they feel that someone else is copying their design (sites like Cosplaysky may end up in trouble). In my opinion it's nothing to do with the production team, they have no control over whether designers, stores and supplies continue to stock items that have been chosen for the film. Many do not know that their items will be used at all (the person who designed Bella's "feather" bag was only told because they needed a stunt version for a scene at short notice, and even then was not told which film it was being used in). They also have no way of knowing that they will be used in the final cut (there are two outfits worn for Bella's first visit to the Cullens). As for problem eBayers, there's not much you can do. As a buyer, you can set yourself a budget and not get carried away. As a seller, you can cancel bids that you find unreasonable (I think).

I agree the best thing to do is write to American Eagle etc. expressing interest in the re-release of items used in the films, and in the meantime, we must thank BellaForbiddenEdward and all the other Twilighters who spot these items for us and allow us to get a head-first on the rush!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I completely agree with the above comment. Sellers on Ebay are getting carried away because they know how much some of us want these items. The best idea is to NOT buy from these sellers. I recently saw the Hot Topic replica of the dress and of the jacket being sold for a starting bid of $149! Seriously? These people on Ebay are as bad as the paparazzi in some cases. In any case, here is a picture of my Olive henley from AE. You can see it is much darker than shown in the stock image.
BTW, I to find it hard to post certain links on this site as well.

  34. Hello.
I've always been one of the big fan of this blog and left my comments in the past with links to the newly spotted items, etc.
But, I didn't think anybody would talk this badly about me selling Olive Henley from A.E.
I found them in Japan triple the price you'd found in eBay.
I thought you would be happy if I put them in listings for some reasonable price. They were 5000JPY in Japan. That really is approx. $50.

I am very sorry for you misunderstanding my intension. These henleys were not spotted in Japan, not even accessible from overseas. So, I thought I wanted to help.

And I have to say, I never asked my money back for JanSport backpack. I recently had a complaint case for no-arrival, and I still have not received it yet. I paid $175 for it.
I know that is expensive, but I really wanted one. Somebody wrote I bid outrageous bid, but it's not true. It was $175 and it was my greatest effort to own that backpack.
I never asked my money back for finding one cheaper in Japan. I never found one in Japan at all.

I am feeling all depressed about the comments left here about me.

Let's be friends wherever we live. If we are Twilight fans..... That shouldn't be difficult.
You are lucky enough to live in the area with A.E., Nordstrom, Hot Topic and all these shops.

I'm sorry for letting some of you feel angry with my listings. American Eagle outfits are expensive in Japan, as they are imported.

    ReplyDelete
  35. spmeow, you're not going to make everyone happy, and I'm really sorry that you have been hurt by people's comments. To be honest, you have every right to sell whatever you want on ebay, and it's not your fault people are bidding them up. And as you can see, the comment where someone posted bad things about you has been removed so obviously it's NOT okay that people are being mean to you. There are nice people on here and you just kinda have to over look the bad, and the blog administrator has been REALLY awesome at staying on top of removing hateful comments. I for one appreciate you.

    ReplyDelete
  36. We can't get them in the UK either... American Eagle, Splendid, Lucky Brand... and since many online stores do not ship overseas eBay is the only option we have.

Please do not misunderstand my comments. I was just trying to advise other eBay users on the need to be sensible about how much they spend. I know how easy it is to get carried away in the bidding process.

Sellers can charge whatever they feel is appropropriate as a starting bid/Buy It Now, and then the bidders are responsible from there. It just happens that if the seller is not aware that the product has become part of the Twilight Saga, the price tends to begin lower than those who are aware of it.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks Brittany,

    I'm spmeow again.

Buyers of the henleys are really from all over the world. Australia, UK, Germany, Belgium, etc. They don't have American Eagle there.

I will be more careful from the next time ragarding my listing. I will write about how much it costed in the first place.

I guess Britney is right. I don't make everybody happy. But, I made some people happy.
Winning bidders are all very serious and very nice people.
Maybe the things are a little bit carried away, but it's the same thing happened when Harry Potter series were really hot.

  38. Louise, I didn't mean to say anything you said was wrong or mean. Really, just the comments that were already deleted. I agree with you, it is easy to get carried away with the starting bid/buy it now. We're lucky if we find something cheap on ebay. But another option is etsy. There are SO many good seamstresses on there. I got the curious gypsy top and bella's green kangaroo shirt made for me by people on there, and it's cheap. I got both made for $30. So that's another option. Just bear in mind, of course it won't be exactly like it, but enough that it makes me happy.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Brittany

Who was the seller on Etsy that made the curious gypsy top? I'm trying to find it.

    Thanks

    ReplyDelete
  40. Yes, do tel, Britt! Could you just email me the names? My email is BRITTCS@aol.com Thanks ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  41. No problem, Brittany! I knew what you meant.

I've tried Etsy but can't find anyone making Bella Wardrobe lookalikes at the moment, although the jewellery is quite easy to get hold of.

Anyway, back to Bella's Cliff Dive outfit. I dyed the two tops I got from Primark (well, a charity shop in my case but they were originally sold at Primark) and I must say I am quite pleased with the results. I had to use a pre-dye to strip the colours first, but you can still see that one has come out a tad darker than the other. I'm keeping one for myself (obviously) but may list the other on eBay if people are interested and can suggest a starting price. Here are the pictures:

    BEFORE:

AFTER (formerly grey on left, formerly blue on right):

    http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/Allo_Worm/BellaGreenCardigan-1.jpg

    What do you think?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Louise, the after pic you put up is of Bella's green cardigan. I'm anxious to see the after pics! I never thought dying a shirt like that. Although I have no idea how to do it. Anyway, as for the etsy sellers..the green kangaroo top I had done by: violetlanice and the curious gypsy top was done by: shoshanna2003
Shoshanna even went so far as to use a darker material to weave into spots of the shirt to make it look like the "flecks" that are in the real top. If you decide to just put up an alchemy to have people bid to make a shirt for you, just make sure you look at their feedback. Both of these sellers have 100% feedback.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Daft me! Sorry. HERE is the After picture:

    ReplyDelete
  45. I know, isn't it cool? They came out really well.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Louise, you are SO very clever!!! I'd love to meet you, lol. You all have great ideas on how to nail down the style!!! I'm gonna try etsy. I didn't realize you could use the alchemy for that!!!

    ReplyDelete
  47. Louise, you'll have to let us know when you put it up on ebay! It's amazing how similar it is!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I really would love an XS, Louise! Email me at BRITTCS@aol.com if you decide to put one on Ebay. =D Great job!

It is the last one available in the US :( I know so many people have wanted one and I am trying to let as many people know as possible before they go spending 400$ for a USED one. You can msg me on coolspotters (meglovestwilight) or look for it on ebay tomorrow :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. *sigh* Apparenly you're not allowed to use the terms "Twilight" "New Moon" or "Bella Swan" in your item title and my listing was removed. So I've relisted without them. Hopefully this listing doesn't break any rules and it will stay up.

  61. I'm dyeing my shirt right now as we speak...so far its turning out good although a helpful tip is that the thread doesnt take the dye at all but oh well its close enough

    ReplyDelete
  62. You have to be a bit careful with dye and make sure it is appropriate for your fabric. In my experience with Dylon, the brand which is most available to me, is that cotton and viscose are OK but polyester will not dye. It's also a good idea to use a pre-dye to stripe the fabric of its current colour.

    ReplyDelete
  63. ok so i didnt pre strip the color I just bought another green & let the two colors which the original shirt was orange mix together & it came out a little greener but all in all I am very happy .It looks more like the color in the first picture above(jake kiss) But I really like it YAY

    ReplyDelete
  64. I have the orange American Eagle henley. How did you dye your shirt? Did you use the washing machine or did you dye it on the stove? I only have RIT dye. Do you think that will work? How long did it take to dye it?

  65. I used the sink method and left it for 30 minutes

    ReplyDelete
  77. I just washed mine in hot water and dried it on high heat. It didn't shrink that much, but it did enough to fit sort of the way I wanted it to. It's still a bit big. I might have it altered. I couldn't believe the shirt was that big in the first place! It was a Medium and it looked like a Large. Dunno!

    ReplyDelete

I just wanted to let you know that I went to another TjMaxx today and found 2 AE striped olive henleys in XS. I have double good news- the shirt is super stretchy (it fit me well and I normally wear a medium in AE tops). Also, I am selling it (the one I'm not keeping) on ebay for $15.

I really hope that someone on here can get it for cheap because the other shirts on there right now are going for starting bids of $315. Boo.

Best of luck- I will keep looking at other TjMaxx's to find more Henleys and maybe the O'neill stripe sweater (I'm trying with no luck!).
